VOAC is a faith-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to empower self-reliance and inspire hope. As a church without walls, we do this through personalized housing, ministry, health, and human services that benefit vulnerable individuals, their families and the community. Founded in 1896 in Baltimore, MD, our dedicated and committed team of management, staff and volunteers is guided by our Core Values: Visionary, One Body, Integrity, Compassion, Excellence and Faith. Volunteers of America Chesapeake supports adults with intellectual disabilities in the District of Columbia.
Direct Service Professionals (DSPs) enable our vulnerable population to become more self-reliant in their day-to-day activities. The DSP position is a gateway role to the human services profession with opportunities for increased responsibilities at the residential coordinator and counselor levels.
There are a variety of shifts available, including weekend, morning, evening, and overnight shifts. Full time and part time shifts are available.
